THE BASICS

 

CONTROLS

Super Squad's controls are designed to be simple to learn and familiar to gamers, with all keys within easy reach.

Controls are viewable and rebindable in the options menu, accessible anytime including in matches.

CAMERA

We offer two different camera options in Super Squad: High Cam and Low Cam. They can be quickly switched between in-game with a scroll of the Mouse Wheel.

You can also choose between two rotation types: Locked or Unlocked. Locked will automatically rotate the camera with your mouse movement; Unlocked means the camera will not rotate unless you hold the assigned button. This can also be quickly toggled in game.

TROOPERS

Each Trooper has unique abilities, stats, and an assigned role to play on the Squad: Damage, Tank, Support, or Healer. Having a balanced team composition will give you maximum chances at success!

SHARDS AND ITEMS

Shards are the currency used to buy Passive and Active Abilities at the in-match store. In each match, players start with 0 Shards and earn them both passively over time and through actions such as getting a kill or capturing a Pylon.

Once enough Shards have been collected, players can buy up to two Passive Abilities for their Trooper, and one Active Ability.

GAME MODES

 

You and your Squad must race to capture zones across the map, earning points for your team.

 

Capturing a zone earns 15 points, and holding a zone earns a surge of 30 points every 30 seconds. The longer you hold a zone, the more points it will give each surge, up to 50 points.

 

Kills also earn a small number of points for your Squad, which increases based on how many zones your Squad is holding.

 

The first Squad to reach 1200 points wins the match.

 

TIP: having multiple Troopers inside the zone will capture it faster, and having more Troopers inside than the enemy will capture it in your favour!

Holding a zone will start to build up Surge Defences - these are environmental hazards that hurt and hamper the other squad if they try to steal it!

Defences come in two forms: Walls and Mortars. Walls allow the squad that owns the point to move and shoot through them, but block the movement and shots of enemy troopers. Mortars periodically fire shots that land in and around the Capture Zone, only damaging the enemy squad.

Phase 1 / Pods and Keys

 

When the game starts, you and your Squad must collect and hold 10 Launch Keys by destroying Drop Pods that fall from the sky or killing enemies to take their keys.

 

Once one squad has enough Launch Keys, the next phase starts; a strike site will activate and Power Relays will emerge from the ground around it.

TIP: Whenever Drops Pods fall onto the map, their locations will be shown on the minimap, as well as the number of keys inside!

Phase 2 / Relays and Launch

 

The Squad that won the Key Phase start with an advantage: all 4 Power Relays belong to them at the beginning of this phase.

To launch a strike, they must defend the Relays for 90 seconds, holding at least 2 at the end of the timer.

The other Squad must take down at least 3 of the relays within the time limit to flip them to their side and steal the launch.

The first Squad to launch 2 Strikes against the enemy base wins the game.

Goblin Mines

Domination

The goblins have created an elaborate mine complete with minecart tracks to retrieve precious metals and resources from the ground. After trading away precious metals from within the mine, the goblins managed to acquire an extremely rare dragon egg, and hatched from it a ‘pet’ dragon to help smelt the metal.

GROUPING

Unless you're making a sneaky grab at an unguarded pylon or pod, you should probably stick with your teammates on the battlefield.

A Squad that is travelling as a group is absolutely lethal to a solo Trooper - the only way to counter this is to group up too!

COMMUNICATION

Squads that Ping together, win together.

Good communication is what takes a good Squad to the next level - making good use of both the Ping system and the chat can be the difference between Victory and Defeat!

Using the middle mouse button, you can quickly tell your Squad to attack, defend, retreat, or help at a particular location. This can help your team coordinate around a single goal.
