Early Access Patch Notes - V0.01.00

First, we at BadFox would like to thank everyone who has come long for the beta journey with us. It’s been amazing to see people play the game and have so much fun! As a thanks for all of the help and feedback, everything beta players currently have unlocked will stay that way, so no free-rotation for you. You will also be keeping all of your Super Coins and Trooper Tokens for you to unlock future content in store!


We’ve also heard from a number of our beta players that the weekends weren’t enough time to complete the battlepass, we will be extending the beta battlepass for 2 weeks after early access for you all to unlock everything!


Now to the changes themselves: For the last 2 weeks we’ve been focusing on quality-of-life changes, feedback, more badass moments, and bug fixes to make sure the gameplay is as smooth as can be for Early Access. We also focused on some new player guidance to help everyone just joining us get up to speed with the mechanics as quickly as possible!

Overhead UI rework:



The overhead UI might look the same, but now there are various animated elements that help players understand what’s happening faster and make dealing damage feel a lot weightier! Now when Troopers take damage their overhead UI will fragment and break apart at lower and lower % health thresholds. This makes it much easier to understand at a glance who’s close to death and who you should prioritise! You will also see the dodge pips above the Trooper animate as they come off cooldown, helping to bring them to your attention.

Tips when Dead:



We’ve added some tips to the respawn screen after you’ve died. The tips are split into 3 different categories; General, Abilities, and Troopers. As you play more and eventually die, you will progress through the tips, meaning that new players will have general tips, then as they play more, they will get more advanced and niche tips for how to play the Trooper of that match! If you’ve had enough tips, then you can switch them off. If you want them back on you can go into the video option screen (ESC Key) and tick them back on.

End Match Screen Overhaul:



We’ve reworked the end of match screen, now showing your Troopers in match on their podiums and showing the top Damage, Assists, and Tank (Damage taken) let us know what you think!

The Store is Live!



As we go into early access, we’re putting the store live! This means that you all will be able to buy Super Coin Packs to buy store content to help support us in making the game! Make sure to give us feedback on your favourite content to help us know the direction the community wants the content to go! Make sure to check out the Super Pack, it unlocks all Troopers current and future, so you'll never have to miss out on your Troopers in Squad Select!

  • All Prices of items in the in-match store have been reduced to accommodate for the slightly shorter game time!

  • Explosion and Puddle size decreased from 15m to 12

Bug Fixes:


  • Focus, Knockback Shot, and Angelic Shot now line trace when withing 6m of an enemy, instead of firing a projectile. This should make landing these abilities at close range a lot easier!

  • Now when you hit or miss with abilities a sound should play, giving players more feedback on hit confirmations.

  • The cursor has been reworked to be clearer and give additional feedback when players hit enemies with anything. This applies to Damage over Time (DoT) effects, so even if someone runs away, you can still get the confirmation that you’ve applied your DoT effect!

  • Focus and Angelic shot have increased Particle Effects (PFX) to further increase feedback on landing those abilities.

  • Throwables now have trails! this should help with telegraphing these abilities and helping opposing players to dodge out of the way. This means that you’re going to have to play around their dodge charges to make a hit 100% certain, so think before you throw…

  • Now when players have earned enough shards, they will be alerted through sound, minimap pings, a UI text alert, and an in world PFX and ring around the store itself. We were finding that a lot of new players didn’t realise there was a store, so we’ve added in a lot of feedback to help players understand when they’re able to use the store!

  • UI has had sounds added to it in a lot of locations to help alert players when something is changing that they need to be alerted to.

  • Work has been done to the cut-out material on a couple of maps to ensure that objects are see through when you’re standing in front of them. This is an ongoing process, so the more placed on the map are reported, the faster we will fix them!

Known Issues:


  • Sometimes Troopers can be stuck off of the map in Asteroid colony, this seems to be linked to being knocked off while using a channeled ability (Suppressive Fire and Double O's).

  • Your keys may be set randomly in the options menu while changing settings.

  • Sometimes the escape key won't work when in various menus, right click on the game to refocus the window, and ESC should work.

  • Keys at Launch and Rockets diffused are not tallying correctly at the end of the Strike Match score screen.

  • Sometimes key UI icons in Strike stay on the minimap after being collected

  • Some players may not be given a vote on the gamemode vote, we're looking into this.

  • Sometimes in squad select some players are given a wider aspect ratio than intended.
